We have had a great first quarter despite many of the challenges we faced. The integration of Carber is ahead of schedule and we are excited about our new service offerings and the new team that has come onboard.

Downstream revenue did well in the first quarter. The Carber integration is ahead of schedule. The utility business is starting to sell their new business lines.

The Utility business opened a new office in Washington, D.C. and started a new Water Treatment business line on the East Coast.

Hand injuries are on the rise! Are you aware of how you are using your hands and are you keeping your hands safe?

Some common on-the-job scenarios where you can injure your hands are: lacerations from sharp objects, pinch points and chemical contact to name a few. Make sure you are using the proper company approved gloves – Cat 5 cut / puncture resistant and chemical resistant.

HPC Industrial is on the forefront of developing safer and more efficient technologies. Just recently we successfully cleaned two 2,600 tube vertical exchangers in Illinois. Our automated lancing not only kept employees from having to use high-pressure lances, which can be dangerous, but it cut cleaning time by 40%, which saved over 110,000 gallons of water, 960 gallons of fuel and 21,000 pounds of CO2 emissions.

An unsafe hose is a ticking time bomb! We have partnered with Hufco to roll out new hydroblasting hoses. Old hoses need to be replaced with new Hufco hoses by December 31st, 2019. Following our new Hose Policy is key for your success at HPC Industrial.

To make sure you understand the difference between a safe and not safe hose we will be rolling out “Know Your Hose” posters to hang up at each location.

CTCS (Computerized Tube Cleaning System) is an industry-leading technology developed by HPC Industrial to clean heat exchanger tubes more efficiently and consistently than ever before. CTCS insures no tubes are missed and all tubes are cleaned consistently. Data-logging and post-job reporting helps customers identify potential problem areas in their exchangers as well as assisting HPC in the development of operating parameters for future cleaning procedures.

As the Senior VP of Business Development, my responsibility is to lead our company’s efforts in growth through acquisition. My job is to identify companies, meet with their owners, determine if the business fits well with ours and determine the appropriate value. There are many great companies in the market that do similar work to HPC Industrial. But perhaps because of their operating geography, or their unique technology and service offering, adding them to the HPC Industrial team makes good business sense.

Today, we’re thrilled to announce that the CITGO Lake Charles LDAR group celebrated 10 years without an OSHA recordable.

The CITGO Lake Charles Safety & Environmental Department held a luncheon to honor each HPC Industrial LDAR employee for making safety their #1 priority. Each employee was gifted a Magellan Tumbler and Engel Cooler in recognition for their hard work and dedication to safety.
